INDIVIDUAL SERVICES

ASSESSMENT – FREE SERVICE

We will provide a free, 15 minute assessment of your resume and tell you how it can be improved. It is extremely important to have a solid Federal resume that meets all the Federal guidelines and stands out from other Federal resumes. We will remove private sector language that is NOT recognized by the Federal HR Specialist and replace it with Federal language and core competencies that ARE recognized and understood by Federal HR staff. We will also provide more detail regarding your particular duties, responsibilities, results and accomplishments, since Federal resumes are usually three to five pages long. Once we complete your FREE assessment, you will be provided with a price quote for the additional services required to make your entire application THE BEST it can be.

ARE YOU BEST QUALIFIED?

Once you make the decision to have us re-write your Federal resume, we will walk you through the process of identifying those Federal jobs for which you are best qualified. This is a very important step. Even if you are qualified (sometimes called “minimally qualified”), you may not be found to be BEST qualified and your application will not move forward to the selection official (hiring manager). Many people make the fatal mistake of applying for jobs for which they are either minimally or not qualified, and their applications are never forwarded for consideration. Based on our knowledge of the Federal HR selection and hiring process, we will direct you to focus on those jobs for which you are best qualified — which significantly increases the likelihood of your application being noticed.

WRITING YOUR RESUME

A Certified Federal Resume Writer will write your Federal resume to target those Federal jobs for which you are best qualified. Using core competencies developed by the Office of Personnel Management, we will “marry” the information the HR Specialists are looking for with your current and past job experiences. The result is a document that will look very different from the others that are likely to be submitted, and one that will grab the attention of the HR staff!

WRITING YOUR KSAS or ESSAYS

A Certified Federal Resume Writer will draft and edit your KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) statements (also called essays, narratives or examples) and relate them specifically to your resume, the duties listed in the job announcement and to your work experiences. It is important not to overlook this step; your KSAs must be well-written and directly relate to the skills desired by the agency. It is like a puzzle. All the pieces must fit together in order to move your application package to the hiring manager.

INTERVIEW COACHING

Get fully prepared for your interview by reviewing typically asked questions and responses that will give you the competitive edge. Understand the reasoning behind the questions asked and learn how to “think on your feet” in a stressful situation. Our Certified Federal Career Counselor will assist you to become fully prepared to meet with your interviewer(s).

CAREER COACHING AND CONSULTATION

Assess where you are in your Federal search and get answers to some of your job search questions. A Certified Federal Career Counselor who knows the Federal Government will give you feedback on the best occupations for you to pursue and will make recommendations based on your individual career goals.
